Ramping up...

Looking forward to attending the UK's Audio Engineering Society Conference this week in Glasgow. The conference proceedings came out and I've included a link to that in on my Research page along with links to journal articles that are finally available. I'm excited to hear other presentations and meet some fellow colleagues from other institutions. Generally, I leave these types of conferences inspired and am hopeful for a good trip. Publications are slowly getting updated and revised. I have a few under review right now along with confirmation of a podcast review that's been accepted in a special issue of the Journal of Radio and Audio Media coming out in November. I don't anticipate writing too many book/media reviews, but they are a nice way to establish a relationship with a journal and explore new content out there.

We're ramping up for a busy fall semester and the start of the NSF research project. I'm delighted to be a part of it and look forward to learning a great deal along the way. The last month of this summer I've been reading a great deal of literature. Rather than writing, I decided to dig deeper into some published articles. I'm also reading a couple of books (those will take a bit longer) and taking lots of notes. Otherwise, I'm taking a statistics course this fall in my doctoral program and plan to get out to do some field research for the New England Soundscape Project. I've placed an order for some technology and hope to get started in October. Finally, I'm working on a new solo piece for trombone which is starting to take shape. More on that in the coming weeks. Best wishes for a great fall.
