Reviews and evaluations have always been positive and helpful. Speaking in very general terms, I think it's really important to consider the time and effort peer-reviewers share in order to make a manuscript better. I feel the same way about teaching and performance evaluations. There's always something to learn and to improve upon. Thankfully it's been a very solid year, but there is always more to accomplish. Working with students has been really enjoyable too. My students are hard working, down to earth, and talented in many areas. I've had fun interacting with them and watching their improvement. That's one of the great joys of teaching I find.
I did hear back from one publisher regarding a manuscript. They have recommended publication with revisions. I'm delighted to hear the news and will share more specific information once all details are current. Suffice it to say, the article needs some tweaking and I'm looking forward to the reviewers' comments.
I'm presenting at IASPM - Canada in a couple of weeks. In the interim, I'm working on the final touches of the AES UK paper to present in Glasgow this August. I'm excited to begin some creative work too. I'm going to study composition this summer, continue with my doctorate and try to get plenty of practicing in. My hope is to sneak in a few percussion lessons too. Finally, I'm going to jump into the New England Soundscape project, which I'll share more about in an upcoming blog.
Thanks for reading.
